We are carrying out essential resurfacing at Portsbridge roundabout to keep the road in good condition and safe to use.
When the work will happen
Work will start from Monday 1 June 2026 and is expected to take up to 10 nights, depending on the weather.
What’s happening
The roundabout surface will be replaced as part of our ongoing maintenance programme.
This work helps prevent the road from deteriorating and avoids the need for more disruptive repairs later on.
Road closures and diversions
- The roundabout will be closed to traffic overnight while work takes place
- Clearly signed diversion routes will be in place
- Some nearby roads and access routes may also be temporarily closed overnight
Buses and travel
- Some bus routes will be diverted
- Some bus stops will be temporarily closed overnight
- You may experience delays, so please plan ahead and check with your bus operator before travelling
What to expect
We are carrying out the work overnight to reduce disruption during the day.
However, you may notice:
- Traffic being diverted at night
- Temporary changes to access routes
- Noise, especially when the existing road surface is removed
We will do everything we can to keep disruption to a minimum.
Why we’re doing this
Portsbridge roundabout is a key route into and out of the city. Maintaining it now helps keep journeys safe and reliable for everyone.
