Repair and Ride workshops

Portsmouth residents can learn the basics of cycle maintenance through a series of informal, hands-on workshops suitable for adults of all ages and abilities.

Experienced mechanics from Southsea Cycles will teach residents the basic skills of cycle maintenance to help them keep their bikes in tip-top condition throughout the year.

The workshops support and encourage people to choose cycling and aim to make it more accessible and affordable for Portsmouth residents. Many people would like to cycle more often for exercise, or to ride to work or places of education, but struggle with basic maintenance skills and the cost of repairs. At each session you’ll learn about the equipment you’ll need to make repairs and how to use tools you may already have at home.

These flexible workshops allow you book all five sessions or mix and match as stand-alone units to fit with your own schedule.

Sessions run during the day, evening and on some Saturdays, over five locations throughout the city. We hope to bring you additional sessions throughout the year so please check back here as information is added.
